Employment Opportunities

Indiana United Methodist Children's Home employs approximately 100 staff members. The delivery of services to boys and girls in care is provided by several groups of talented professionals. Serving their educational needs are our teachers and principal. Counselors and Group Supervisors play an important part in the youth's everyday life. Activities Leaders coordinate trips and recreation. The Home's Christian Education Leader provides educational shared-interest activities as well as structured worship services.

Child Care Workers are direct care providers and spend the most time in direct supervision of the youth. Chid Care Workers help them with their daily responsibilities and provide encouragement and support in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

The Home is currently taking applications for the following positions:

  • Child Care Workers

Requirements include:

  • Minimum age 21
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Valid Drivers License

  • Social Workers
  • Must be 21 or over and have an MSW degree. Social Workers are responsible for planning and supervising the overall living and plan of treatment services for children and their families in a residential treatment facility for children with emotional and behavioral problems.
  • Responsibilities include work with intake and assessment procedures. Appropriate work with relatives of children is done. Social workers may be assigned group treatment of children in residence. Social workers must be able to relate well to children and adults through verbal and written communication and must also be able to meet deadlines for written reports and handle frustration, changes in plans, and prioritize assignments with other staff members in the treatment team.
  • A valid drivers license must be possessed as some travel to counties from which a child has been placed is required.
